Society at the tipping point

Anyone who has worked in any form of retail or a service industry knows that you’re going to deal with the worst of people on an almost daily basis. From the people demanding you check the back even after you show them the “back” door is an exit, to people demanding to see the manager after an unreasonable request isn’t instantly granted, but there’s a common thread, selfishness. Growing up in the 1980’s, I don’t remember a single instance of someone screaming at a cashier over a wrong price, an expired coupon, or anything we’re seeing today, but now it’s almost so common place it’s expected. Granted, the image here is meant as a joke, as I really doubt a manager would fire a barista for not being able to put ice at the bottom of any liquid, but it’s not far off from some of the stories below it. The mindset of “instant payday” has become so pervasive though that companies are so scared of a lawsuit, they often jump to truly idiotic means to avoid it. The oddity about it though, is that it’s virtually all from one “side of the aisle,” in the “I’m going to sue” crowd. Recently, both Wendy’s and Whataburger in DFW, TX, have seen Police Officers refused service simply because they are Police Officers, and a Chili’s manager take a meal in a to go box from a man on Veteran’s day because he was told by another diner the man wasn’t a real veteran. In all cases, the company apologized (in the Chili’s case, the Pentagon called Chili’s to confirm the man’s status, yet the manager was just transferred,) but none of those three sued. Yes, social media lit up and all three companies had to move quickly to avoid a massive boycott, but that was it. Yet, when Under Armor not only refused to lash out at the new President’s administration, but was complimentary, those “on the left” acted as if he’d just killed their dog, and all but called for his execution. Ironically, when Nordstrom pulled all products in Ivanka Trump’s line, those very products because so popular they’re selling like made, and Nordstrom is seeing their sales go down, even if a small amount. Target is also seeing this, after they announced they would jump on the “use whichever restroom you want to” bandwagon, and now are cancelling expansion plans due to sales being down due to a boycott.

This is seen in other areas as well. Another social media meme about a lifeguard saving a toddler’s life, only for the Mother to berate the lifeguard and refuse to cooperate with the manager who, by law, has paperwork to fill out. Most of the comments state she knows she’d likely be reported to C.P.S. or otherwise proven to be at the very least, inattentive, and she doesn’t want that, but why berate the person who literally just saved your child’s life? The answer, again, is simply that people are so assured of their own superiority, that anything they don’t personally want done is obviously wrong and should be shunned. I can guarantee that had the child not been saved in time, not at all, or just come up crying, the lifeguard would be attacked for “not doing their job” or some such. We’re in a can’t win situation, and there’s very little chance of it changing any time soon.

A final example of this mindset is an MMA Fighter who was sued by a Ring Girl before the fight reported on, and can clearly be seen in the video almost running from the one in the ring this time. He is literally grabbed and pulled over, only to cross his hands and drop his head due to fear of any action he takes being seen as harassment of any kind. Yet, if he were to sue the organizers for mental trauma, or claim a disability, he’d be laughed at as “men cannot be victimized.” Sadly, it likely will take a lawsuit from a man like this fighter, claiming they are so afraid of being sued for simply making any physical contact with the ring girls that they cannot fight at all, and suing for the disability pay and so on, for the world to begin to realize that we’re now in a world where discrimination is a common issue, and done by those who scream that they’re discriminated against.

Moving forward, although still on this topic in a way, is the current topic screamed by “feminists” the world over, that being “rape culture.” We’ve seen women assert that a man “raped” them by looking at her, or in his mind, and try to sue, although so far, none of that has gone anywhere, but now we have the concept of reverse rape, that being when a woman wants to have sex with a man, but he says no. You didn’t misread that, it’s now apparently “rape” to refuse sex. This is the point where men are told to “shut up and do what we say to, and also, don’t complain when by doing what we tell you to, we later claim that you forced your way on us after we decide we didn’t really want what we said we wanted.” This will happen, as a woman will tell some man she’ll cry rape if he doesn’t sleep with her, then at a later point, she’ll still cry rape and ruin his life. Sadly, you could have video of her telling him “I’ll say you raped me” and some judge will rule you had no right to record her, and it will still be game over for the guy who was hamstrung from the off.

This is the point where we either slam on the brakes and demand logic and adult behavior be the norm again, not only from society, but from those in power. We must tell the judges we don’t want them doing whatever they want and changing laws here and there when they feel they should, we just want them to rule based on the law of the land as it’s written. We need to tell Congress we don’t want to be lectured about how racist or sexist we are because we oppose a bill we haven’t been allowed to read, or that we must allow a bill to be passed before we can read it. And finally, we must tell the President that we want someone who will work for Americans’ interests, not any other country. Yes, we have allies and we must stand beside them, but that never requires that the US economy be sacrificed, or American jobs be sent over seas just to prop up a foreign country. We are the only country today being ordered around by the U.N. while they happily take our money, mostly because the other member states fall in line, or are exempted from what they demand the U.S. do. It’s time to tell the U.N. we will not go along any more, and we will also not pay or house them. Once the world sees we’re embracing their philosophy of take care of home first, maybe, just maybe, they’ll wake up. The same may happen when “feminists” realize that calling every little thing that slightly irks them rape is going to land them in hot water, or threatening to sue no longer gets you free crap, maybe we’ll see people starting to act like adults again, but I’m not holding my breath.

A dangerous path

It seems that officials in California are now being open about wanting to silence all dissenting opinions. At present, they’re introducing a bill to require non-profit organizations to name all donors. We’ve seen TV stations bow to pressure to cancel TV shows because the stars are Christian, businesses sued out of business for holding to their beliefs, but now it’s everyone who simply gives money to a charity organization at risk. Suppose someone who supports abortion finds out you gave to a Pro-Life group? They’d have all of your information, and mark my words, if this is passed, we WILL see attacks and possibly murders, based only on someone donating to a charity.

The left has been losing their minds slowly since the 1970’s, but it’s been kicked into overdrive in the last few years. While accusing the right of being evil, violent, and wanting to silence everyone, they’re only describing themselves. The “protests” at airports have seen people attacked and knocked unconscious, and it’s only getting worse. The question though, is how do we turn around? How do we fix this?

Simply put, we can’t just fix it, but we can slow it down. If this passes and you’re in California, mail money orders and don’t give your name, or give cash and give a false name. You don’t have to give ID when donating, and the charities know it. Next, get the list of who’s donating to groups that incite violence, or otherwise spread hate. Don’t use them, but let it be known that you have a list of all donors to “Group XXX” and it wasn’t hard to get. For those not in California, don’t visit or otherwise spend any money that goes into the state. Maybe, if the state government sees tourism dollars going down, they’ll realize they aren’t the only people in the world. Hollywood has already threatened to cancel the Oscars, and some celebs are calling for a full strike (no movies at all) until Trump gives them everything they want. I say we make the choice for them, stop going to any movies with those people in them. They seem dead set on ordering the world around, then threatening to hold us at gunpoint by threatening to not perform, so let’s tell them it’s no longer their choice. None of them will be financially hurt if they stopped today, and trust me, there are 4 actors trying to get into the business for every celeb in Hollywood, we won’t be hurting for movies to watch or TV shows.

The people screaming for secession or a strike need to be forcibly reminded that they are not in charge, they are not the only people that matter, and that they cannot bully others into doing what they want. If that means I read and listen to CD’s for a while, so be it.

More hypocrisy and such to start your week

So, I got sent this today, and as I expected before I even opened it, I knew the comments would be nothing but attacks and arguments. Well, I wasn’t disappointed, as naturally, there were the “Those who thought Obama was muslim think Trump is Christian” comments, there were comments about how since “Jesus was from the middle east, he’s not allowed in” and more. One person did bring up that Christ was born in Israel, which is not on the list of countries listed in the Executive Order which was signed regarding visas and refugees. Outside of the idiots screaming that this is a “ban on muslims” while it’s not, when did we get to this point? When did the world officially accept that it’s completely OK to denigrate only one group, while forcing everyone to tell that very group they aren’t allowed to say anything deemed offensive? I’ve been told I’m racist, a bigot, a sexist, and so much more simply for disagreeing with someone over the last eight years, only to watch as those same people are losing their minds that Trump not only won in November, that the screaming about the Electoral College didn’t work, the recounts didn’t work, the moves in the House to block the confirmation didn’t work, and that he was finally inaugurated on the 20th of January. For eight years anyone who questioned Obama’s citizenship was berated, anyone who suggested the man was not a Christian was shouted down, and anyone who dared suggest that Obamacare wasn’t going to work other than to take money from people wanted to see the poor kicked into the streets so they die slowly for the GOP’s entertainment. Now, those people who demanded not only silence, but praise for their “tolerance” and “forward thinking” for eight years, have completely reversed course, and demand that we not speak out in support of a President we voted for, that we not speak for any policy, and of course, still demanding praise for their “tolerance of such hateful bigots” as they haven’t killed anyone yet.

Think back, if anyone who voted for McCain or Romney had blocked a highway after they lost, how long would it have been before either they were arrested or worse, were dead from a liberal running them over? Today, though, police actually said that protesters at some airports could block the roads for 15 of every 30 minutes. Yes, they were ALLOWED to BLOCK ALL TRAFFIC, which is completely ILLEGAL because they didn’t get their way, yet even if an Ambulance was screaming THIS MAN WILL DIE IF YOU DON’T MOVE, they’d stand their and “embrace their right to protest” until arrested for causing the man’s death, and then scream and whine in court that they have a “right” to protest.

So now my customary statement on how we got here, and simply put it’s due to an entire generation being told they get a trophy for showing up, they make the team because they want to, never having been told no, never having been told something is wrong, and now a generation of young adults believes it’s “wrong” to not hand them money because they want it, or to not give them any salary they demand, or to do everything they want. Thankfully the vast majority of them will not run for office, so while the House and Senate will have a very few of them, I hope for a day when it’s mostly people just there to do the job. When one runs for President, the meltdown when a major party won’t nominate them will be glorious, and the nuclear explosion when they aren’t elected will put the bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki to shame.

Sadly, Thanks to eight years of Bill, only an eight year break and much of that with a DNC Congress, then eight years of Obama and his “I have a pen and a phone” mentality when Congress didn’t bow and do everything he demanded, we’re many years from even being close to raising children who will learn math, science, english, history and so on, but not that Christians are bad, Muslims are just misunderstood, and the government is God and should be obeyed without question. I just hope we survive to see that day.

Society today in a nutshell

We’ve all heard this joke or one like it, as well as seen the meme about one group or another shoving a spike in their bike wheel then blaming who they hate. Sadly, this is all too common today, and it’s getting worse. I’ve been harangued by women for “daring” to hold a door as if they’re too weak, or for “sexism” when I am just polite. Women have gotten to the point where their first reaction is the “I have a boyfriend” to everything, as if literally every male on the planet is about to rape them, and it’s thanks in no small amount to the media harping on “rape culture.” The big question I have is not only how we got to a point where it’s now almost genetic to instantly try to vilify everyone around you, but also how we stop the trend. When a uniformed officer has the Police called on him for being in uniform in a class he’s taking, we’ve officially reached the tipping point. The very people who scream about rape culture or how all cops just want to kill people are the very ones who then scream that the Police don’t care as they didn’t get to them fast enough when they’re robbed, or that the Police (whom they called) “acted rashly” when the KNIFE WIELDING TERRORIST was shot and killed. They bemoan the “poor misunderstood refugee” who was “forced into this course of action by islamophobia running rampant.” Had Police waited, tried to talk him down, and more people been killed, I can guarantee that there would be calls for Officers to be fired, if not hanged at dawn.

These same people, who claim to be educated and intelligent, are also calling on the Electoral College Electors to vote against the will of their states. I’ve pointed out to many people that the Electoral College was put in places so that a handful of cities/counties doesn’t decide the election. Trump won almost ALL counties in NY, but due to NYC, the margin was close. He won many counties in California, but due to LA and San Fransisco (almost solely due to them) the state went to Hillary Clinton. The same people who would be calling for me to be shot had the situation been flipped are calling for me to be all but shot for standing up for the system in place. Had Trump lost the Electoral vote but won the popular vote, he said he might not accept it, and Clinton called that a “threat to democracy” only for her supporters to do that very thing. Had the roles been reversed and Electors pressured to vote for him instead of Clinton, you can bet there would be demands that the Electors be fired, no matter if that was legal, but the reason for that is the very people now screaming to be handed what they want no matter what, are the very people who’ve been given just that since childhood.

For more than 15 years, and likely more than 20, children have not been told a grade failed, or that they didn’t win the race, so as to “not hurt their feelings.” Academics are a joke, as teachers are so heavily leaned on to ensure their students do well on standardized tests, that all they teach (almost) is that very test. I started elementary school in 1984, and I don’t remember being traumatized when I was told my answers weren’t right, so I didn’t get a high grade. Nor was my life ruined when I competed and didn’t win. The problem, is that the high school students of the late 1970’s, who cared more about Woodstock, drugs and “doing their own thing” are now parents of mid to late teens, and those children have been raised “free to find their own path.” This has ruined a generation, and I can only hope not the world forever. Children need discipline in their lives, and being spanked, sent to bed without dinner, or just having toys or technology denied them will not traumatize them. The reason these special snowflakes aren’t disciplined is simple though, they’ve learned very well that by simply threatening to tell someone their parents abuse them, they get their way. Personally, were it my child threatening that after I take their phone or game away, I’d hand them the phone. Before they dialed though, I’d ensure they know that they’ll be taken away, likely put in a state home where there is no PS4 or Xbox, no cell phones, and certainly no life anywhere near what they have. Unfortunately, some of these little twits need to be allowed to report the “abuse” and be taken away and put in state homes, so they realize that being made to clean up or do their homework isn’t abuse. Maybe, just maybe, if one or two had their lives upended for “reporting abuse” they’d learn, and then be able to tell others what happened, but, sadly, they’d just blame their parents for “not stopping it” (by giving them whatever they want) and continue to cry and whine.

Unfortunately, the only way they’re going to learn is the hard way. They need to be arrested and jailed for the false hate crimes reported since Trump’s win. They need to be told to grow up when they tell their professor they don’t like having a uniformed Officer in class, and they need to be told that just because they studied 19th century women’s art done only in pink, they aren’t better than anyone else, and thus, they don’t get to dictate how the country is run. Only when they’re firmly told to grow up and then made to do so, will we even have a hope of starting the road back to where we were only 30 years ago.

Friday thoughts

In just over two weeks, it will be Christmas. That wonderful time of year when we see tantrums in stores over toys, fights over the hot item, and a general de-evolution of the human species, as they return to primates fighting over the sharp stick or last bit of food. I’ve been out shopping at midnight on Thanksgiving night twice, and will never do it again, as the first time I watched someone almost attack a Police Officer for not letting them break in line, then a year later, watching as people were almost trampled over kitchen gadgets. This year, I did take a day off (November 11th) to be up early and in line for my NES Classic, although that was just a bonus as I took the day off initially to be able to attend a basketball tournament my nephew was playing in. Even more than two weeks before Black Friday I was hard pressed to not think it was, as people were more concerned about a game than with anything else. In my first example, WalMart had a BluRay player on for $9.99 or $14.99 (I forget, it’s been a good while) and had stated well before that night, anyone who didn’t get one that night, would still get one at that price, it would just need to be when the next shipment arrived. On November 11th, I got to Target at 5:30 and they didn’t open until 8. For the first hour or so, it was me and 6 other people, one of which was there to get something else launching that day. By about 7:00, the manager came out to check the line, and found only the 7 of us, and told us the store only got six units. We were all happy, as the 7th guy only wanted the new Garth Brooks CD set. As more people showed up, we told them that they wouldn’t get one there, and that the last we heard, other stores opening later had no lines, and they thanked us and left. But, by 7:30 or so, they just stuck around, and when the manager told them the same thing we had, most started to complain, one even accusing her of hiding others so she and the other employees would get them. To me, this shows the same attitude we saw just after Super Tuesday and continue seeing today, the “I want my way, give me my way, or I’ll throw a tantrum and make life miserable for everyone” mindset.

For years we’ve heard from the more liberal people in the country that we need to be more tolerant, and more accepting of everyone’s differences, but they seem to not need to do that very thing. I’ve been told to kill myself, that someone “knows where I live and is coming” and more, for nothing more than posting an opinion. The “I know where you live” was, incredibly enough, on a very conservative site, where I and others were going back and forth about hypothetical laws. Naturally, as a Texan, I’m well armed almost all the time, and not frightened of some wacko coming over, as (like I said) I’m in Texas, and should some idiot show up intending harm, the law is on my side. But, why is it OK to scream at me I must be tolerant, then threaten my life? The simple answer, it is not! In 2000 and 2004, the left bemoaned Bush’s cabinet choices, with some even suggesting he should be required to appoint Democrats or their picks, so someone can keep an eye on him. Funny enough, that was never even mentioned in 2008 or 2012, but with a GOP House and Senate coming in, and an upcoming transition to a Trump White House, the moaning about the cabinet is back. People have called for the Democrats still in office to filibuster all appointees, which is to say, stop all work being done and just stall so there won’t be a cabinet. Thankfully, Senator Reid ended that possibility not long ago when a DNC item was filibustered.

When they aren’t bemoaning the horror that is someone actually thinking for themselves, or blocking highways in protest, they’re crying about the Electoral College. I’ve commented on several posts, explaining the E.C. as it does serve a purpose, only to be called names and insulted. Simply put, without the E.C. the cities of LA, NYC, San Fransisco and Chicaco could almost decide every election for POTUS. If you look at a map of election results by county, you’ll see a far greater amount of Red than Blue, but now that the E.C. went to Trump and the popular vote didn’t, suddenly we are told to just do away with it.

There’s a problem there though Skippy, you can’t just do away with the Electoral College. You see, it was created in the U.S. Constitution, so must be changed or done away with by a Constitutional Amendment. So, first you need to have someone call a Constitutional Convention, have enough states say OK and attend, have enough agree to the amendment and put it to the states, then enough states must ratify it. So, unfortunately for our special snowflakes, the Electoral College won’t just be going away, even if they manager to retake Congress.

So far, the world hasn’t ended, no one’s been nuked, and as far as I can tell, a high percentage of the stories about people being verbally abused or worse by Trump supporters are false, although I see more of the stories about Trump supporters being attacked being true far more often. Yes, Trump said he’s going to drain the swamp and protect our borders, which surprisingly, the vast majority of people living on the border want done. He did not, however, say he’s going to find and deport all illegal immigrants in a day. What he said is he would start by focusing on those with criminal records being being in the country illegally, those who we know are raping, assaulting, robbing and killing. Personally, after those are gone, go after the citizens doing the same and put them away for good. Send them to Sheriff Joe in AZ and put them to work. I know there are good people who came here illegally, so why not help them gain citizenship, so they earn more? Oh, can’t do that, or you’d be taking away their culture. After all, they fought to escape a horrid life, only to protest to make America just like the country they fled. America is the only, or one of a very few, country on this planet that doesn’t have an official language, or as open a border as ours. If you even try to enter Mexico illegally, and you’re lucky enough to avoid being shot, you’ll spend a LONG time in jail, but we can’t even send them back to their home country, or we’re “oppressing them.”

For those who are screaming for Sanctuary Cities or Campuses, go for it, but don’t come crying to me when the government pulls funding from your city or college. You see, it’s the law, and if you publicly help people break the law, you become an accomplice, and thus, are guilty of a crime. The University of Texas was the first to publicly start the Sanctuary Campus movement, pressuring the University PD to not help I.C.E. or other law enforcement, and if the PD does, they’ll find the Texas Rangers authority doesn’t stop at the border of the campus. Sanctuary only does one thing, embolden those that claim it. The UK has, for years, not fought the tide of Muslim immigration, and now there are signs being put up that tell citizens not to walk their dogs, because it’s not clean for Muslims. Yes, people are ordering British citizens to not use public places, and it’s not being fought. The OSU madman who used a car and a knife to attempt the murder of other students was a “refugee,” but all we’re hearing now from those at OSU is how the Police were too quick to shoot, should have listened to the idiot, or how it’s our fault because he felt he had no option due to the “Islamophobia” today. I’m sorry, but if you are attacking and trying to kill people, I’m not going to buy you a latte and ask you about your feelings, I’m going take you down as quickly as I can, and in a manner that best protects those around you. The only good in this, is that it shows that the “hands up don’t shoot” idiocy was just a line for TV, as this idiot was actively attacking people when shot, so it’s not about “innocent people of color” being killed, it’s just about attacking police. I wonder, what would happen were the police to start telling people “why don’t you try talking to them, try to understand why they’re doing this?” Or, if they said “sorry, but we can’t come out, since we’d have to kill the attacker, and you don’t want us rushing to judgement do you?” Naturally, the narrative would flip and become “Police don’t care about those they are paid to protect” from the current one.

The simple truth is this. The world isn’t fair, and won’t be as long as we wait on the second coming of Christ. Trump won’t end the world, nor will the GOP controlled Congress and Senate. In fact, you’ll likely see taxes go down, the economy get better, and in general, life will just go on as it always has. Personally, I’m waiting to see how the news spins it when the country is either better off, or at least, not in the sewer, in four years. We hear nothing but how Trump is going to destroy the country, but in 4 years, when we’re better off, what will they say? But that’s enough ranting from me, what do you say?

More of the same, I wish I could find other news but can’t

First, it seems that in order to prove the sanctions the U.S. must renew before 1/1 when they expire are unnecessary, Iran has threatened the U.S. Yes, you read that right. Iran wants to become a nuclear power, we’ve seen statements from them as well as other nations in the middle east about wanting to wipe Israel from the map, and so on, so the U.S. imposed sanctions on them, due to their history of trying to kill people en masse. Well, they’ve now told the sitting President of the United States he “must” let them expire, or they will have a “prompt response.” If this isn’t proof that the sanctions are needed, although I’d say a team of S.E.A.L.S. could handle the problem much better, I don’t know what is going to have to happen.

After all the hype and moaning about how the refugees are “women and children fleeing oppression” and the world telling the U.S. what we should do, we have more proof that is not the case. It seems that in addition to the skyrocketing rate of rape and other assault in places, we now have a high ranking EU Official’s daughter raped and murdered by a “refugee.” Naturally, he’s staying quiet, likely hoping that if he plays the “I didn’t know it was wrong” card, saying “that’s how it works in my country, she enticed me” or some other BS, he’ll get let go. You know, only 39 years ago, France was still using the guillotine, maybe if we brought that back, and coated the blade with bacon grease, we could curb this?

All I’ll say to this is REALLY, YOU THINK CALLING ALMOST 50% OF THE COUNTRY DEPLORABLE ALIENATED THEM? Sorry, but when you have a member of the Democratic Party at the national level who only says this after the candidate loses, I think it shows that they have zero clue any more.

Before you react to this story, just read it. The rules “on the block” as it were include the EPA fining companies for not buying and using fuel that DOES NOT EXIST, and preventing them from taking over all (possible) waterways, including drainage ditches in communities. This is not Trump shutting the EPA down and letting the environment rot, this is a needed culling of useless rules and people who have too much power, and still want more.

Finally, more proof that the idiocy of participation trophies, no failing grades, no red ink, and making sure no one gets their feelings hurt is shown yet again. It seems that students at American University want someone fired because he met with President Elect Trump, apparently regarding a possible cabinet position. Now, of course they’re citing racism, sexism, hatred, and more, but what they don’t want to address is that while, yes, many are “big money insiders” they are people who know the position. General Mattis is tapped for SecDef, and is perfect for it, while secretary of agriculture should be someone who has (gasp) actually worked in that field, and so on, but no, it’s just “he’s not my president, so you should be fired because I don’t like him” and on and on and on. I can guarantee that had Clinton won and a single person suggested this, that person would be all but executed at dawn for “daring to speak against the President Elect.” But hey, the special snowflakes likely finished their coloring books and let their play dough dry up, so now they don’t have anything to do, like STUDY THEIR COURSE WORK, right?

Anyway, enough from me, what do you think?

The truth is much stranger than fiction

It’s been said that art imitates society and that the truth is stranger than fiction, but today those are being taken to the extreme. Four and eight years ago, when Barack Obama won the election for President of the United States, a large percentage of the country was upset, as they did not vote for him. Yet, did we see riots in the streets, people attacked and killed over their vote for him, or other threats made? No, we did not. By and large, those who voted for McCain and Romney went about their lives, going to work, paying their bills, and just hoping for a candidate that could eventually represent them. Just a few weeks ago, that happened, yet those who voted for Hillary Clinton won’t accept that. I recently saw a post that said the Cubs were being forced to give up their World Series win, as the Indians had scored just as many points over the series, so they felt they should be co-winners. This, naturally, is a joke, but it is very close to the claims being made by the Clinton camp. In 2000, when Gore was defeated, there were calls to end the Electoral College, and those are being made again this year. What no one seems to understand, or care about, is that you can’t just do that.

The Electoral College is part of what the 12th Amendment encompasses and thus, cannot be changed or removed without another amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Contrary to what those who are now screaming would have you believe, this cannot be done by Congress, but must happen at a Constitutional Convention. If any of them can get their representative to call for a Convention, and if enough states agree to it, and if the amendment is passed, and then if enough states ratify it, GREAT! That’s the legal and proper way to do it, but demanding that it “just be done,” well, that’s nothing more than a toddler having a fit that they didn’t get their way.

Much like those above, there are also celebrities promising to leave the country forever if Trump was elected. Now that he has been, and their attempts to scare or threaten people into changing that have failed, they’re still here. So far, of all of them, only a very young star, Miley Cyrus, has said anything about it. In her tearful video, she admits she’s very upset, but at the end, says she accepts the election, and accepts Trump as President. I’ll be the first to admit, that if Sam Jackson leaves the country, it will be very hard to continue with many Marvel Studios properties, as he virtually is Nick Fury, but to have someone tell the country “do what I want or I’ll take my ball and leave” is not how things work here. That’s a playground tactic from elementary school, for a child not picked for a game.

But, that’s enough from me, what do you think?

You can’t make this up!

When BLM decided that police defending themselves from attack was “murder” the media ran with it, and suddenly, all cops were hiding in the shadows waiting for innocent black children to shoot. But, with Trump now our President Elect, we now see riots in the street being called free expression. In Austin of all places, protesters from the “Red Guard,” assaulted others, then claimed that their friend’s arrest was the assault. Naturally, they ignore that they were taking part in a riot (not a “protest” as so many scream they are,) and had assaulted others, and likely tried to assault police. We NEED to stop this. No one from the Trump side is attacking anyone, yet those upset at the system are attacking others, destroying property, and worse. Yes, there are idiots saying stupid things to others, and I want that to stop too, but saying something stupid that they have zero power to back up, and hurting others or destroying property ARE NOT THE SAME THING!

Honestly, the idiot should have seen this one coming. This is NOT A JOKE PEOPLE! Nor is saying you’re going to harm or kill ANYONE. I’m a fairly big guy, and I’ve had some training in fighting/self defense, as I’ve had a few rough jobs. In a fight, if someone says “I’m gonna kill you,” I change mental gears from restrain, to incapacitate. Normally, I go for a hold until they calm down or the Police arrive, in the second scenario, I go for the knock out blow! Why, that person just said, serious or not, that they intend to end my life! In the case of President Elect Trump, THAT IS A FEDERAL CRIME! This idiot not only said what he did, he did so online, where nothing goes away! Naturally, it was “said in jest” or “a product of his profound disappointment affecting his judgement,” and not him doing something stupid. I wonder what he’ll say when he’s arrested by the Secret Service, as merely saying what he did is a crime, and he should go to jail, for a long time.

This one is a bit different. Personally, I would not have tweeted what Scott did but I’m not him, nor do I work where I am inundated with stories about how “black people are hunted by racist cops,” or how “Hillary is struggling to leave her house” and other idiocy, but to respond, to someone who lives in a city hit by the anthrax scare several times, with an envelope containing something unknown, is just stupid! What the worst part of all of this is, and it’s not even sad any more, is that students today are being taught that “free speech” means they can say LITERALLY ANYTHING and face no consequences. When a COLLEGE PROFESSOR goes off about the “injustice” of being forced through a psychological evaluation (rather than arrest) after tweeting that he’s going to buy a firearm and kill random people, and he then rants that “free speech is under attack” they don’t see that saying you want to MURDER OTHER PEOPLE is wrong any more. What’s actually worse than this idiot ranting so horribly he’s taken for a psychological evaluation, is that he’s teaching students and they’re seeing his rant as “free speech” and his superiors’ perfectly expected reaction as “censorship.” All the while, they demand safe spaces where they aren’t “traumatized” by people not agreeing with them, demand the expulsion or termination of people who do so, and are “threatened” by someone writing Trump 2016 on the sidewalk in chalk. Is it any wonder that so few of them can find work outside of teaching what they just finished learning? They spend four years in college, ranting about the “evil white man” and when they graduate, all they know how to do is return and teach how evil white men are. We’re very close to a tipping point people, which way we go is anyone’s guess, but we will soon reach a time when a millennial will sue someone for “denying their right to this or that” or just outright demand someone support them because they “have a right” to this or that, and no expectation of work. I won’t be surprised at all when one of them screams that “Christians are supposed to help others, why won’t you buy me a house and a car, I need your help!” Then, they’ll be horribly confused by either the silence, or the wave of “I will feed and clothe you, I will help you find work, but I am not going to give you everything you demand and let you continue to be a drain on everyone around you.” If they even listen, I expect a lawsuit for something like defamation of character for calling them a drain, WHEN THEY ARE ONE, but hey, what do I know? I’m just an evil white male, part of the patriarchy, who “wants” to work, so that should be my reward, while I should be happy to give everything to someone who “doesn’t feel they should be forced to work, just to get money.”

Society today passed “stranger” than fiction long ago

I really wish this was a satirical piece, but it’s not as far as I can tell. It seems that the abortion industry is dead set to force into law that an unborn child is not human, that only the act of being born makes one human. As we all know, this is the basis for their argument that abortion should be completely unregulated and fully funded by tax dollars, as they apparently can’t get private donors to pony up. We’ve heard the screaming for years, portraying anyone who disagrees as a backward idiot, often trying to get this done publicly. I am not going to shy away or hide the fact that I am a Christian, and in fact, to force that is actually a violation of the First Amendment, unlike those where a student dared to pray at lunch, or a teacher wore a cross pendant. Now, they’re attacking parents who want to bury their miscarried child, screaming that it’s not a person, just a “product of conception” and thus, painting those who believe the child to have been a person as hysterical, idiots, over-emotional, etc.

This is precisely what we must fight, on all issues. I believe abortion is murder, and I will not change that belief. But, unlike many in my family and circle of friends, I believe in as small a government as possible, meaning this would be a decision between a Doctor and his/her patient. Do I wish it wasn’t done, absolutely, and that is why I vote for candidates who will hold Planned Parenthood responsible for all of their wrongs, and for those who will at least refuse to expand funding, just as those arguing against my beliefs are free to vote for whom they wish. The problem comes in when the people screaming about how conservatives want to “force religion on them” start forcing atheism on everyone else. I can already hear people screaming that “no one is forcing you to be an atheist” but in many ways that is precisely what’s happening. No, I’m not being forced to leave my church and officially announce I’m an atheist, but I am being forced, more and more, to hide my faith in public. I’ve so far only had one experience, but being shouted at in a restaurant for praying over my food is more than enough to get me angry. Short version, I went to Cracker Barrell for lunch, and when I got my food, I prayed over it as I do at meals. Another diner crossed through the center section to get to me, shouting about how I “can’t force religion on others” and other bull. I’m not a confrontational person, but I wasn’t going to sit and take that, so I pointed out that the man had to turn around and lean around a wall to see me, so he must have been purposely looking, to which he just sputtered. I then told him to leave me alone and I’d do the same, but I would not deny my faith. He yelled more, until the manager came over, and the idiot demanded I be thrown out for “forcing others to observe a religious activity,” although the manager did refuse and comped my meal. But this is the same as being told we cannot treat the remains of miscarried/aborted children as humans.

It’s very simple, if we don’t stand up and tell the world we will not be silenced, we will not be forced into hiding, and will not be ashamed of our faith, we will take a much faster path toward the world where Christians and others who don’t follow the “authorized religion” will be killed. Many will scoff at this, and will just repeat that “religion is just a crutch” and “no one will ever be killed for their faith” right up until that happens the first time. Then? They’ll happily accept that the person killed was a criminal and a danger to society as a whole, as are all others like him, ignoring their own history of denying it could ever happen, and instead turning in those they know. We have to start the fight for sanity in the world somewhere, and I’ve chosen to start here. Will you fight? What will you fight for? Or, will you just lay back and let the world burn around you?

It wouldn’t be a Monday without wanting to slap people

To start off, it seems that SNL is dead set to follow Hillary into obscurity. After the election, and while countless liberals run for their safe spaces, tweet their disbelief, or demand America just give them what they want, SNL had Kate McKinnon singing the late Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” and crying. I never knew much about Cohen, but from the response, I’d guess he wouldn’t like his music associated with a criminal not getting what she wants. I remember growing up in the 1980’s and loving SNL. Even as the shift to the left started, and we saw far more raunchy jokes, digs at the GOP outweigh even an unkind word about the DNC, it was still funny. Now though, it’s just like the rest of NBC, CNN and so many other networks, an open shill for Hillary and the rest of the DNC. While I can hope their ratings will show that people don’t agree, I’m not holding my breath, as I really don’t want to see SNL end, just go back to comedy for comedy’s sake, and leave politics to the news pundits.

Moving on, if you thought we were rid of Michael Dukakis in 1988, you’d be wrong. Now, he’s declaring war on the Electoral College. Unlike many of the others doing this, at least he’s demanding it be undone legally, rather than the many people tweeting or just screaming for the Electors to go against the results and just hand the White House to Hillary. Funny isn’t it, that when their candidate wins, it’s “they won, it’s how the system works” but when they lose, it’s time to demand people just do as they say, change everything, tear down the “broken system.” I’m not going to try to claim I didn’t take to my blog, or Facebook, or another medium to express my “displeasure” with either of Obama’s wins, as I firmly believe the man to be seeking the destruction of the United States. Ignoring that I believe him to not be a Natural Born citizen, we have quotes from him that he wants to “fundamentally change” the country, while Michelle is on record as saying that during his time in office was the first time she was proud of America. She’s not a young girl, so that literally means that until she became First Lady, she was never proud to be an American. I’m not going to even suggest that Trump is perfect or blameless in his life, but he is far more American that Obama will ever be. As for the Electoral College, I’m going to give you a short description of this institution. Most people see the map showing the states and see that California went blue, but it didn’t. LA and San Fransisco, and the very few other cities that are extremely densely populated turned the state blue. Yes, a handful of cities/counties are able to control the rest of the state’s vote. What this means, is that if you look at the map by county, the country is far more red than blue. Yes, there are more people that voted for Hillary, but this is the point of the Electoral College, it prevents a population center from controlling more than their state. Yes, there are writings from the founders that hint that they didn’t trust the average voter, and set up the E.C., and yes, it may be time to end that institution, but do it legally. This would be a change to the Constitution, which requires a Constitutional Convention. This, like the Second Amendment, can’t “just be changed” because someone doesn’t like them. This is one of the reasons Hillary did so horribly in some states, as people are very much going to protect their rights, and she flat out said she’d use an Executive Order with regards to the Second Amendment. In layman’s terms, she said she’d just issue an order to make owning guns far more difficult, if not illegal, for private citizens. Let’s put that another way. Let’s say that a candidate said they’d use Executive Orders to “fix” the First Amendment. Would you be upset that they want to remove your right to free speech, or assembly, or to force the press to report as the government dictates (openly, as opposed to CNN and the others that march to the DNC’s tune?) So, put that way, much like the Second, it can’t “just be changed” or done away with. If you are that serious about it, call for a Constitutional Convention, get the States there, and DO IT RIGHT!

Finally, is anyone surprised that Sweden is blaming gender equality for a massive SNAFU after their first big snow of the year. Recently, a policy (law?) requires sidewalks to be cleared before roads, to allow for “gender equality” because women walk more, and men are “over represented” among drivers. Naturally, this caused a massive problem, as no one could drive, so businesses and schools were closed, greatly impacting everyone. Naturally, it’s not because the roads were to be cleared last, it’s “a lack of gender-equality” in snow clearing that caused it. Now, I’m all for treating women and men equally, but I have to call this what it is, an act of complete idiocy. If a snow storm is bad enough that, when the roads aren’t cleared, no one can drive, is anyone really going to go out other than in their car? I realize I’m just a dumb Texan, and our “cold” is a warm summer day to someone in Stockholm in the winter, but this just seems to make sense. First clear the roads, and if you must, send out the walkway clearing crews right behind them, because guess what, THEY HAVE TO GET THEIR TO CLEAR THEM! Yes, I know the world isn’t perfect, and yes, discrimination still happens, be it based on race, sex, or any of a number of things people are biased about. But, to institute policies like this is just insane! We’ve seen this in other places, where policies are put in place to “ensure equality” only to have them cause far more problems, or be attacked just as vehemently. The true solution is to just ignore the whiners until they go away or grow up. A good example of this is a company I worked for in 2003/2004, and their hiring policy. The application has no mention of sex, gender, race, religion, etc, and any applicant that lists any of those items anywhere else is summarily rejected. The next two rounds (interviews) are entirely automated, and not only don’t mention race/sex/gender/religion/etc, in these, it’s impossible to list them as the “interviews” are done via a touch tone phone. Only in round 4 (application, interview, interview, round 4) are your race/gender/sex known, as only then do you meet someone in person. Even with this in place, they’ve been sued for not hiring someone because they’re black, or female, or gay, or what have you. Granted, they win each time, because they can show that those people were never interviewed by a person, but filtered out by the automated system. Much like the people in Missouri screaming that the Fire Department test is racist because they failed it, ignoring that very few people pass that test. I’m sorry, but we have to stop pandering to these people and doing stupid stuff like Sweden did, or we’re just going to see the world collapse and anarchy will take over. But, what do I know, I’m only a History Teacher from Texas, I didn’t get a Masters in Women’s Studies from Berkley, so I don’t know anything about politics, do I?

Enough from me, what do you think?

Eye In The Sky

So, I just watched Eye in the Sky and I have to say it’s spot on for the arguments being bandied about all over today. The basic plot is a debate on the legitimacy of using drone strikes on any target, on “high value” targets, and every point in between. I want to clarify now, without any reservation, that any loss of civilian life in a military operation is horrible, and I am very glad that the military forces of the civilized world do all they can to avoid that very thing. Sadly, it’s not possible to completely remove that possibility, and that fact, often, results in decisions that are not only all but impossible to make, but weight heavily on those making them, and those they then order to act.

Without spoiling the movie, I want to ask a question, so I’ll set up a scenario that is far from what the movie shows. The FBI gets intelligence on a group based somewhere in the U.S. planning a massive strike on an urban center. This attack will cost hundreds their lives. Men, women and children WILL DIE if this attack is not prevented. Now, the ring leaders are on the most wanted list, and so, have been being hunted for a long time prior to this intelligence coming in, and that hunt leads the FBI to the safe house being used to prepare for this attack. Part of this situation could include citizens of countries friendly to the U.S., so they will of course let those governments know that one of their citizens, who is on the most wanted list, may be killed. The friendly governments will agree to act, grudgingly perhaps, but the benefits of stopping an attack outweigh wanting a show trial.

Now, once approval is given, let’s look at the target area. We’ll set this at a cabin in Nebraska, at least 100 yards from the nearest home. The targets are all inside, preparing, but at the very last minute, another person shows up, and halts everything. We won’t go into who this person is, we’ll just say that their presence is enough for many people to question if the strike should happen. So, the question, would you let an attack happen that will, with almost 100% certainty, cost hundreds of lives, to save one? You’ve been briefed on what these people can do if they leave, and the likelihood of stopping them is less than 5%, as they will leave in more than one group, and only one can be followed. You can’t go in on foot, as they will slaughter your forces. What do you do?

I’ll stop here, so as not to spoil the movie. Alan Rickman, as always, gives a performance that leaves you with goosebumps. So, comment here, or on the tweet, or write your own post somewhere. The question, while it doesn’t seem so, is actually a simple one. If you could act with certainty of minimal collateral damage to save hundreds, would you? It’s almost the same question that comes up in the gun control debate, if you had to choose between killing one person or watching that person kill one or more person you love, could you pull the trigger? I have my handgun license, and every time I carry my weapon off my land, I pray I won’t need to even consider drawing it, let alone use it. But, if I could prevent an innocent being killed, I would pull the trigger, even though I know that means counseling, possible criminal and civil repercussions, and far more, for years.

So, your thoughts?

Friday linkfest rant

Well, it wouldn’t be a normal Friday for me if I didn’t have at least a few stories that are making me consider packing up and moving to an island with SAMs and 50cal chain guns to ensure I’m left alone.

First is this one, where Obama’s Civil Rights Director actually makes the claim that not allowing someone who is biologically male to use the women’s restroom is “against American values.” You read that right, it’s now unpatriotic to not want a man in the same restroom, locker room, shower room, ect as you, or worse, where young girls may be. We’ve already seen, well before Obama’s illegal edict about public schools, men pretending to be women to set up cameras or just otherwise ogle women, now they’re protected as long as they “identify” as a woman. How long until one “identifies as a woman who only feels attracted to other women” so “she” was just admiring women “she” found attractive?

Next, this shocking news from the southern border. It seems a rather liberal reporter was sent to south Texas to ask people what they wanted done about illegal immigration. With the rhetoric and propaganda flowing full force to discredit Trump, I’m sure they expected people to give “feel good” responses about “making it safe for people fleeing horrible lives” or some other BS. Well, I’m not shocked at all when people who live where the drugs and gangs are most active want a wall built. You’ll also notice that it needed it to be “tied to some compassion.” Sorry folks, the laws already are, if you come to the border and surrender to the Border Patrol, telling them your life is in danger, they are NOT going to say “sorry, go back.” Yes, you may spend time in a holding cell, but if you’re truly in fear of dying, I’d think a holding cell guarded by Federal Agents might be rather comforting. Every other country on the planet has a method for preventing illegal immigration, even if it’s as harsh as jailing you with no trial, no representation, and no likelihood of ever going home (Mexico for example,) but we’re being TOLD, almost ORDERED to just let our borders be open to anyone, and WHEN that results in rape, murder, or worse, we’re told that’s no reason to close our borders to illegal crossing. Sorry, I don’t care what someone in another country, who’s economy depends on money sent there by those here, working illegally, says.

It’s not just illegals though, that we need to watch out for. It seems two men were doused in gasoline and set on fire by a black man, and other than a few journals I subscribe to, I’ve heard NOTHING on this. The Police have the suspect and he’s charged with attempted manslaughter and reckless endangerment, so at least the Police aren’t worried about cries of “racist cops arrest poor black man” when some cock and bull story about the “racist whites deserving it” surfaces.

Finally, just more proof that our legal system is broken. The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled that self defense is not a justifiable reason to carry a weapon. Yes, you heard that right, a Federal Judge has now told America that just because you want to keep breathing, you’re going to need a better reason to get a handgun license. Thankfully, some states are fighting back, but sadly, 9 states have jumped on this bandwagon, and have agreed that their citizens’ lives are worthless. WHEN the murders begin happening that could have been stopped, I can guarantee that this will be “a case of a criminal not heeding the law to not carry a weapon” rather than what it actually is, a situation where the government caused a citizen to die by disarming them.

But enough from me, what are your thoughts?

A question for you to start the week

In recent months/years, we’ve heard more and more that we must be “tolerant” of the LGBT community. We’ve been told quite harshly that it is not a lifestyle choice, and those who “dare” defy that are vilified or worse. There is NO EVIDENCE that homosexuality or “being the opposite gender to your body” is in any way biological, genetic, or anything more than a choice, even if buried so deep in your subconscious, but we’re told we cannot question that it’s not a choice. The most recent manifestation of this is the restroom question. We have people ORDERING the world to let them choose which restroom they wish to use, and anyone who doesn’t immediately bow to their demand is a bigot or worse.

The biggest opposition to this is from parents of children who will be faced with people that aren’t the same sex as them in the restroom/locker-room, but as is now obvious, a parent’s concern for their child is lesser than someone feeling uncomfortable. There have been instances of men “identifying” as a woman just to plant cameras or just ogle the women they now can. There WILL be rapes and assaults, but we can’t suggest that because to do so is “denying the rights” of those who truly feel trapped in the wrong body. This comes down to the same question that has been at the forefront since homosexuality became a “hot button issue.” Why can’t we even question it? The “right” to demonstrate and parade is only vehemently defended by those who parade or demonstrate almost nude. Men who are grossly overweight want to walk the streets in nightwear no one wants to see, but to suggest that no one wants to see that, nor should children ever see it is “denying rights.”

Personally, I believe that homosexuality is not “normal” as the purpose of a species is reproduction, and you cannot reproduce without someone of the opposite sex. As a Christian, I believe it is a sin, and as it was called in Soddom and Gomorah, an abomination. That said, I am simply one person, I am in no position to hire/fire, nor do I have any influence on public policy or law that my fellow citizens do not have. I am simply a voter, yet I’ve been told, loudly and profanely, that my simply believing this is tantamount to having them burned at the stake, only to be told “I just don’t understand” when I ask how a simple thought that is only in my head has that power. The answer is, IT DOESN’T! Our government is not a democracy, it is a representative republic, and as such, we elect our leaders, then they debate (endlessly in many cases) and pass laws. My one vote is my way of expressing my opinion as to who should represent my state/district, that’s it.

Getting back to the restroom question, we’ve seen many reactions to this. Some companies ignore the situation and just let people do what they wish, some go full negative, enforcing that the restrooms are based on biology. Others went a different way, offering a third option, a unisex restroom, that is single occupant. Naturally, that wasn’t enough, giving an option that isn’t complete capitulation is tantamount to the Scarlet Letter or an armband a la Nazi Germany. Let me tell you a secret, NO ONE CARES WHO USES THE UNISEX RESTROOM! There is no camera taking pictures to post and “out” the trans people who use it. There is no one standing guard and writing down names! In many cases, the unisex restroom, as it’s where parents take children to change diapers and such, is the only one truly clean and people will stand in line for it, ignoring the restrooms based on biology. Much like the parade issue, if you’re gay, but aren’t so flamingly gay that you even offend or worse, sicken, members of your own community, I cannot do anything other than believe as I do. If you feel you can’t use the men’s room because despite having male “plumbing” you’re really a woman, just use the single occupant restroom, without making a fuss. It’s only when you’re loud about “why can’t I go in the women’s room? I’m a woman in a man’s body, you’re oppressing me, you’re all evil.” that you get attention. If you just go in, do your business, and leave, NO ONE CARES!

But, then again, I’m using logic to point out the idiots screaming about rights, disenfranchisement, bigotry and such do more to their own cause by acting like rank idiots, so of course, I’m evil for not emptying my brain of all but autonomic functions and screaming “you’re so brave to stand there and order us around. You’re so wonderful for telling me how to live while demanding no one tell you how to live.” Sorry, not gonna happen. I have a brain, I’ve been well educated in history, sociology, psychology, political science, and more, and I’m NOT going to let anyone order me to do something against my belief, just because it’s against theirs.

Your rights don’t trump anyone else’s rights, and they end where the other person’s nose begins.

It’s Saturday, time for a bit of a rant

More and more each day, I see the world hurtling to hell in a rocket powered wagon, and no one seems to care. We hear screams of racism, sexism, and so on daily, while those doing the screaming are the most guilty of those actions. Meanwhile, others are taking everything they can to “prove racism is institutional” and only proving themselves to be idiots. Case in point, this person claims to have been looking for buried Comcast wires, when approached by a police officer who had his weapon drawn. He was supposedly told to put his hands up, but said no, and was then given a ticket. I’m sorry idiot, but had the officer had his weapon drawn, you would have to have given him a reason. Contrary to popular media hype, police do NOT just approach every non-white person with a weapon drawn. Second point, you claim that your shirt and van are “proof you’re not in the wrong.” Well, sorry to tell you this, but criminals are getting smarter and stealing uniforms and vans, or at least copying them, to “case” places they plan to hit. In most situations, were I in a Comcast neighborhood and see a Comcast van and someone in their shirt, I’d have to think hard about if they were up to no good, and criminals know this. Second, the fact that you weren’t arrested and given a court date, but only cited instead, to me, tells me the idiot posting this to social media is just looking to stir up more trouble. If you are approached with a weapon drawn and you don’t comply, there will be a second (or more than 1 extra) officer there who will either pepper spray or taze you, you won’t just be given a ticket.

Moving on to something that isn’t a report in the media of bigotry or the like, but just a TV show, I still feel it shows a pervasive attitude in society today. So, while watching Supergirl, there’s a scene where two idiots are ramming each other at high speed, and are racing toward young school children.

Being a super hero show, of course Supergirl stops the cars, at which point one driver jumps out, angry that she totaled his car, and caring nothing for the children he almost murdered. He then throws a punch, only to later scream about how she’s hurting him. First, she’s freaking Supergirl! You surely know that you can’t hurt her, so why throw the punch? Simpler than that however, is that this is the attitude becoming more common. Someone stopped from doing something horrible then views themself as 100% the victim, and their actions, regardless of what they are, as 100% justified. Speeders sue the cops for “racism,” criminals who shoot old men (see a previous post) sue said old man for shooting back. Families of criminals sue the one who stopped said criminal from killing others for “negligence” in using a legal firearm to stop a crime.

So, what do you think? Am I right that the world is just headed for hell and doesn’t care?

More from the “all about me” crowd

I’ve written and commented many times about criminals suing their victims, and about how Presidential hopeful Clinton wants to expand that, allowing victims to sue the maker of whatever firearm was used. Interestingly enough, no one has yet to even respond when that is expanded to allowing victims of DWI accidents to sue the company that made the car. I’m expecting the “but a car isn’t designed to be a weapon” or “cars aren’t all made in the U.S.” arguments, as I will be able to counter with “firearms weren’t designed to be a weapon against man” and “not all firearms are made in the U.S.”

I can hear the question already, and while yes, firearms were quickly picked up after their invention by Military forces all over the world, but they were designed as a means of hunting and self defense. A baseball bat is meant as a sporting tool, a hammer as a construction tool, and a crow-bar as a means of opening things, yet all can just as easily be used as a weapon to kill. While I will maintain that suing whoever manufactured the firearm, or car, is idiotic, I’ll actually agree that the DWI example actually has someone other than the driver who might be at fault, the person who helped the driver get drunk, be it a bartender, or store that sold to someone already drunk, seeing as it actually is a crime to serve to or past the point of intoxication, or to sell to an intoxicated person.

Thankfully, not all cases where the criminal sues their victim end with the criminal winning, and in fact, it’s still a very low number where the crook wins, although I think it should be disallowed to sue the very person/people you attempted to rob/attack/kill, even winning the case isn’t the end. The case linked above is one where a man broke into someone’s home, and was shot in the process of robbing them, late at night. So, very dark, attacker is much larger than the resident, but they shouldn’t have shot him until after he’d killed them. Number four on this list is even crazier, as a burgler who SHOT THE HOMEOWNER is suing since the man fired back. Yes, you read that right. In that case, the burgler basically held the home owner hostage, not letting him leave a certain spot, eventually letting him go to the bathroom, only firing when he spotted that the man was now armed, HITTING HIM IN THE JAW, at which point the victim fired back. The criminal lived, and sued for “negligent” use of a firearm, as if him shooting an older man in the face was responsible.

While I whole heartedly agree that even letting these suits get to a courtroom (or all but a very select few) is stupid, until judges start not only ruling in favor of the victim, but also protecting them from the almost always crippling debt that follows, criminals will continue to sue, just because they can. The coups de grace for this little foray into insanity, is the number one item in the 5 victims story. It seems a man was driving on a foggy night, near homes, at nearly 90mph. As the driver was sober, he at least didn’t get a sixth DWI charge, but he did sue. He alleged that the parents were irresponsible since the child wasn’t wearing a helmet, that the child jumped off a ramp into the road, and that due to fog, he didn’t see the child. One wonders how he saw that the child wasn’t wearing a helmet or that he’d been jumping off a ramp due to the fog. To me, this is the ultimate middle finger to grieving parents. A man not only doesn’t deny that he hit and killed a child, but then has the gall to say it wasn’t his fault, but was either the parents’ or the child’s. This not only should never have seen a courtroom, this man should never again see sunlight.

Enough ranting from me, what do you think?
